Meet the team
The Phoenix Law team brings together legal advocacy, investigative experience, and a deep commitment to serving people with clarity, compassion, and strength. Founder Sheri M. Johnson draws on two decades of public service and legal experience, including work in child welfare, probation and parole, and criminal appeals, while Tara Arbuthnot adds more than 20 years of law enforcement experience, investigative skill, criminal justice education, and a client-centered perspective.
Together, Sheri and Tara approach each case with careful preparation, practical insight, and respect for the people they serve. Phoenix Law is focused on listening closely, explaining clearly, investigating thoroughly, and advocating tenaciously for clients across Oklahoma.
Sheri M. Johnson
Founder
Sheri earned a Juris Doctor from Oklahoma City University School of Law, a Master of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of Central Missouri, and a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice with a Psychology minor from the University of Central Oklahoma. She is admitted to practice before all Oklahoma state courts, the United States District Courts for the Western, Eastern, and Northern Districts of Oklahoma, the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.
Tara Arbuthnot
Paralegal / Investigator
Tara is a retired law enforcement officer and longtime criminal justice educator. She has taught in the Criminal Justice Program at Oklahoma Panhandle State University for more than 12 years and has additional experience as a substance abuse counselor, small business owner, and college professor. Her investigative background, professionalism, and client-centered approach make her a valuable part of the Phoenix Law team.
